If you are curious, my name is Marty Roenigk. Elise and I own
the historic Crescent Hotel & Spa and the Basin Park Hotel in
Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Visit us at
www.crescent-hotel.com We are inveterate collectors,
and have an abiding interest in the support and development
of arts and culture in Eureka Springs.
Elsie and Louis Freund played a seminal role in developing
the arts “scene” in Eureka Springs, and we wish to remember them
and others via an eventual museum in town. I am intrigued with
all I have learned about Elsie, and I am truly enamored with her
very distinctive and lovely jewelry.

If you plan on visiting Elsie and Louis Freund's favorite town,
you will be able to see their work in a local antique shop and
at the Historical Museum. More importantly, you will be able to
visit the historic Victorian town and the hills and nature that
inspired them. Few people are aware that Elsie and Louis were
dedicated preservationists and deserve a great deal of credit
for helping to preserve Eureka Springs during a period when
wonderful Victorian homes were being torn down for their lumber.
When visiting, stay at a grand historic hotel -
